The Electric Fuelling Station of the Future
Ontario, Canada - 2021
Competition Entry
CONCEPT
e-Haven is part of the great global ecological trend proposing a new relationship between the environment and transport. By completely redesigning the traditional fuel station, this haven completely redefines our perception of transport and rest area because it emphasizes on the renewal of the being as well as the recharging of the vehicle. The pavilions and the arboriform structures are deployed around a natural park. In order to prioritize this sanctuary, the access route and the parking spaces surround this focal point. First and foremost, e-Haven is conceived for human beings.
PROGRAM
Much more than a simple Gas-Station, e-Haven offers a vast array of activities throughout Canada’s seasons. From meditation to physical activities, a healthy and sustainable lifestyle is promoted.
GRID
The proposed program is distributed on an hexagonal grid. It unifies the massing, outdoor platforms, walkways and landscape.
MODULARITY
This modular approach allows a simplification in the development, production and installation, reducing therefore the project cost.
COMBINATIONS
Adapting to a specific budget and site dimensions, three combination scenarios are proposed - small, medium and large stations - offering additional program features around the central oasis.
THE CANOPY STRUCTURE
For cost-efficiency, transport and ease of installation, modularity is of the essence. Light and eco-friendly materials like wood and green aluminum are used to create structures that mimic nature. Their variation in height and the different paneling options and combinations contribute to this natural and unique experience.
